Where has the time gone???

Ty is 7 months old today! I honestly cannot believe how fast he has grown. Brent and I fall more in love with that baby everyday. He is constantly doing something new! He is now saying da-da, playing with his feet, laughing all of the time, and ALWAYS wants to "stand up." He has also started to LOVE his jumperoo. As far as food, he loves fruit-- especially bananas! We still haven't found a vegetable he will eat (poor boy is picky like his mommy). He is also starting to sit up a little on his own. He won't do it for long, he would much rather be standing, but we are working on it!

Its been so long since I have posted...so much has happened. Ty went on his first TWO beach trips. One in August with Brent's parents and one in October with mine. He had a blast both times! He loved the beach and the water so much! He just hung out under the umbrella in his bouncy chair.

Ty has also been introduced to Alabama football. He will actually sit in his bouncy and watch the games. It's so cute!

Ty also had his first and hopefully last surgery a couple of weeks ago. He was on his 4th ear infection, so the doctor sent us to an ENT. We saw the ENT and lo and behold 2 days later, the boy had tubes! He seems to be doing much better now....one ear still looks a little wierd but we have a follow up appointment next week.

Daycare is still going well. He actually moves up to the Infant 2 class next week (tear, tear).

We had his 6 months pictures taken a couple of weeks ago, so I will post those as soon as I have them. For now, here are a few of my faves from the beach.

4 months old!

I am so bad about updating!! Anyways, lots has happened in the last month! Baby Gabriel joined the world (pic below) on July 26. He is precious and I can't wait for the boys to meet. I know they are going to be great buddies!
Ty is growing up so fast. At his 4 month appointment he weighed 13 lbs, 7 oz. and was 25 and 1/4 inches long. So he is in the 25th percentile for weight and the 75th for weight...which basically means he is tall and skinny! We are still trying different baby foods...so far apple sauce is his favorite. He is laughing a lot now and loves to "talk" (even in the early morning hours!). He is also starting to hold his head pretty steady. He ABSOLUTELY LOVES bathtime. We bought him a bigger tub that is very supportive and he was kicking, screaming, and splashing. Other firsts include putting EVERYTHING in his mouth and "playing" with his car seat buddies. I'm sure I am leaving out so much...he does something new everyday!

My favorite time of the day is now right before he falls asleep. At around 8, I usually feed him a little baby food, bathe him, and them give him his night-night bottle...then its cuddle time for mommy and Ty. We fall asleep together, then when Brent comes to bed he puts Ty in his bassinet.

Everything else is going well with our family. I am still trying to balance work time and family time. Hopefully I can find a solution soon! I just don't want to miss anything!

Cereal!

Well, we tried cereal for the first time this week. Ty wasn't too sure about it at first, but I think he was liking it by the end! I can't wait to try other fun baby foods! We are just waiting for the "go ahead" from the pediatrician at his 4 month appointment in a couple of weeks.

4th of July Weekend

So, I have fallen behind once again. Here are some pics of our 4th of July weekend. We hung out at the pool all weekend! Brent and I had a blast spending time with our little man. He once again loved the water!

Ty's First Camping Trip

Last weekend we took Ty to visit Brent's parents at Wind Creek. He did great. As you can see, he LOVED the water! He was on his best behavior too....slept both nights all night!

Here are some pics from the weekend:

Father's Day and Back to Work

Brent celebrated his first Father's Day last Sunday. He is the best Daddy!!! Ty and I gave him a new charcoal grill and we made him a special slideshow (which I plan on posting later). It was a really fun and busy weekend! Saturday night we cooked out with my parents. Sunday, Ty and I took Brent to lunch at Outback then went shopping at Babies 'R' Us, where Ty got a "big boy" swing, which he loves!! Sunday night we at dinner at Brent's parents. Here are some recent pics of Brent and Monkey...
Daddy and Ty being silly!

Daddy, Ty and Brooks being lazy!

In other news, I am now back at work. Last Thursday was actually my first day...but Thursday and Friday Ty stayed with our grandmothers so I wasn't to worried about him. He started daycare this Monday....now that was hard! I cried all the way to work, and even went to visit him during lunch. I felt so guilty for leaving him at first, but I am feeling better about it now. I miss him like crazy, but I really like his daycare teachers and feel like he is in good hands. Maybe one day I can swing being a stay-at-home mom, but right now working is a must.

Ty also reached another milestone over the past couple of weeks. He laughed out loud for the first time at 11 1/2 weeks, but he has now started "belly- laughing" when we tickle him. He gets so cracked up and his little laugh is the cutest thing ever! He did it for the first time the other night on his changing table. I was so excited that I strapped him to his changing pad and called Brent on speaker phone. Of course, he wouldn't do it again! I keep hoping to catch it on video, but its never around when he does it. (He is still very selective as to when he thinks its funny). Oh well, maybe we will catch it soon.
